Hyperlinks in index

I am creating an index in a document.  I would like to include the text that accompanies the page number in the index hyperlink.  Is this possible or do I have to create hyperlinks for the text manually?  Thanks!

    Thanks for the suggestion Mike but I didn’t see anything in that article about my issue. 

    I create indexes that must have the text hyperlinked to the page along with the page number.  Some users have a hard time selecting just the page number so having the complete line of text along with the page number included in the hyperlink will make it easier for them to select.

    In InDesign 18, select Bookmarks and Hyperlinks in the Include section of the General settings of the Export Adobe PDF dialog box (Files > Export), the resulting PDF will include clickable links that take you to that page. They are not formatted like a hyperlink (not blue or underlined), so hover and click on one to verify.
