Question

Hyphenation errors when exporting to tagged PDF

I’ve got a hyphenation error that keeps cropping up in various InDesign documents. I’m currently using InDesign version 21.6. As soon as I export a PDF with tags, incorrect letters appear in some of the hyphens. There’s no sign of this in InDesign, nor is there when I export a PDF without tags. However, I need the tags for accessibility. There was a similar error here a year ago, but unfortunately no solution was provided.

Does it happen when you export as normal PDF (not Interactive)? And yes, I know that the post you linked to reported the same problems with print-ready PDF. But that was a year ago.

No, the error only occurs when a PDF is exported with tags.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. We're sorry about the trouble.

Please let us know which operating system you're using and share screenshots of the Export PDF window (General and Advanced tabs) so we can check the settings you're using.

    Thanks,
    Nikunj
