Hyphenation issue

We are typesetting a Telugu book using the Pallavi font family in Adobe InDesign CC 2023 (Verion 18.1). We applied the language setting as "Telugu," and the hyphenation settings are enabled, but the hyphenation is not working.

    Where did you apply the language? Many users mistake choosing a dictionary as assigning  a language to text. Language must be assigned to the text at the character level, preferably as part of your paragraph style.
