I can't open my InDesign file, how can I fix this?

Hi,

I worked on my InDesign file yesterday and tried to open it today, but InDesign keeps crashing on opening. I've tried to e-mail it to myself, but I can't even upload the file. I'm worried the file is damaged, and the last back-up is from a week ago so a lot of work would be lost. Could somebody help me to solve this problem? I would be forever grateful!

Regards,

Samantha

I need to open an old In Design file but it seems not possible. The file was created 2006.
Will be greatful for an advice.

You can start by creating a new discussion and providing full details on your issue including version of InDesign, operating system and what happens when you try to open it.

This discussion is almost five years old and whatever your issue it is highly unlikely to be related. Hijacking old posts is only going to confuse things and reduce the chances of you getting help so I'm locking it.

And remind yourself that in future you won't wait a week before doing a Save As and incrementally naming your document (Save As's clear the crud that builds up in InDesign files).
