Question

I cannot choose an image to place in InDesign

I have just re-installed creative cloud after a crash via tech support

However, when I try to place a file in In-Design (or open a file in photoshop). The folder selection opens but then will not let me choose any file at all (JPG, PDF, TIFF or anything). I cannot even cancel and have to press the escape key to close the option down

Basically I cannot place any images, or even open any in photoshop which is useless

Please help!

We're going to need some information about your setup to try and help:

Mac or PC?

RAM installed? What Processor?

Operating System version?

What version of Creative Cloud?

Can you run other programs in CC, like Illustrator? Does InDesign work well except for placing pixel files?

Can you place an Illustrator graphic? Or does the system lock up when you place vector graphics too?

Answers to these questions will help us help you. As a group we want to help, but we can't unless we have more information on what you've got and what you can (and can't) do with it.

Hi

Thanks and ok here goes from what I can work out

Mac or PC? - Mac

RAM installed? What Processor? 16gb 2.2 ghx quad-core i7

Operating System version? OS 12.6.1

What version of Creative Cloud? CC 5.9.0.373

Can you run other programs in CC, like Illustrator? Does InDesign work well except for placing pixel files? Yes, just cannot place anything into it

Can you place an Illustrator graphic? Or does the system lock up when you place vector graphics too? Cannot open anything in illustrator either, just will not place anything

Creative Cloud crashed so Adobe support remote accessed my mac, but in the end had to remove CC, update my mac and re-install CC. Since then (Monday) I have had these issues and need help

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. I live in southeast Florida and was overcome by the weather.

I think the only option I can recommend is for you to use CCCleaner to remov e your current, latest version of Creative Cloud apps and go back to the previous version of CC2022 to see if you can get past the problem. Going back to the previous baseline will establish whether your issue is with the latest, greatest version of Creativbe Cloud apps or some other factor we've yet to consider.

I wish I had better news for you, but that's all I c an offer at this time.

Hope this helps,

Randy
