I designed a piece, it was approved with edits, and then the fonts disappeared!

I'm really pretty upset. How can they just take away fonts with no warning whatsoever?? The Fonts are Arima Koshi and Adelle Sans Devanagari. I have no idea how to get them back. I've searched in Creative Cloud, they are gone. And for this I pay $50 some dollars a month?

Correct answer James Gifford—NitroPress

Fonts don't get removed from a working system except — generally speaking — in a major OS or platform update. I'd suggest the "disconnection" is somewhere other than Adobe, or even Apple.

I'm not sure Adobe has ever removed a font from availability, barring the general and final deprecation of T1s. (I could be wrong, but that's part of the reason I don't rely on TypeKit fonts, too.)

Are these OTF fonts or Type 1 fonts (also known as PostScript)?

I suspect they are OTFs since they were in use just last week, and I would have gotten a warning/wouldn't have been able to use Postcript fonts anyway.  Now that they are gone, I can't verify what exactly they were.  However I did manage to find Arima Koshi as a free font online somewhere. And I am substituting Adelle Sans which is on Creative Cloud, for the other one. So all is not lost. Still, you would think there would be some sort of warning.

Perhaps this isn't an Adobe issue at all! I bet it's a system issue.  Maybe I should be looking for the fonts from Apple!
