Hi @nicosh , Not sure if this help, but there are 3 root folders the Scripts panel get display. If you Control click the panel folder icon you get the option to Reveal in Finder

Check the 20.5 user folders—your scripts may still be there. Downgrading often uses a different preferences location rather than deleting files. If you saved them in the app's Scripts folder, restoring from a backup may be necessary.

    Hi @masonreed

    I have:

    [username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 20.0/[language]/Scripts/Scripts Panel

I have not a 20.5 folder, is there any other place to search?

    Thank you

    Hi @nicosh,

As you mentioned to me privately that some of the scripts were bought from Id-Extras.com, at least those can always be downloaded again here: https://www.id-extras.com/shopping-cart/my-account/

At least the scripts that I bought… but mines I think it’s impossible, and it takes me a lot of time and effort because I'm not a programmer.

    Done

    Thank you

You mentioned the Preferences folder. Did you check the Scripts inside the InDesign folder?

Also, you should be able to retrieve your scripts (as well as anything else) from your backup.

    Hi @nicosh,

Sorry to hear this happened after the downgrade. Could you please check the version-specific Scripts Panel folders for both InDesign 20.5 and 20.4.2, as each version maintains its own scripts folder? Adobe documents the script locations here: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/desktop/automation-and-scripting/document-automation/automate-workflows-with-scripts.html

Also, do you see any scripts in Window > Utilities > Scripts? If so, Control-click any script and choose Reveal in Finder. This will open the exact Scripts Panel folder that InDesign is currently using. If you find your custom scripts in the 20.5 Scripts Panel folder, copy them into the corresponding 20.4.2 Scripts Panel folder and restart InDesign.

Let me know what you find.

    This is the sequence:

    Upgrade to 20.5 (last week)

Downgrade 20.4.2 (today): Because I have some issues

    Upgrade 20.5.4 (today) (actually here)

I have my own scripts but old ones. For example I have worked with a script this last week and I can not find it. Lost.

When I downgrade it’s like the downgrade was to the last time I upgrade (now I have scripts from October 25 th 2025, may be the last time I upgrade).

    I have [username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 20.0/[language]/Scripts/Scripts Panel

So no version folder like version 20.5 or version 20.4.2.

I have lost a lot of work
