Question

I have serial number for my Adobe CC but when I open InDesign or Photoshop it says I have 3 activations and must deactivate 1. I have only 2 installations. Nothing is in my Adobe Account either

How can I deactivate an installation I don’t have and can’t get to?

The version I have is CS 6 Design and Web Premium and it's older than the subscription sort. I'm running on Windows 11 and as I mentioned above I have gone to my Adobe account activation list and there's nothing there.

Sounds like I don't have any options here.

There’s always options but getting that software activated on the new computer is not likely to be one of them. You’ve gotten a lot of life out of that software. Time to explore a subscription or move to an alternate.

    Hi @dragonfire4848 ,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please confirm the exact versions of InDesign and Photoshop you're using, along with your operating system details? As the experts mentioned, since you're referring to a serial number, it would be helpful to confirm whether you're using an older Creative Suite (CS) version rather than Creative Cloud.

In the meantime, please sign in to the Adobe Activated Devices portal and check whether any unexpected or old devices are listed there:
    https://account.adobe.com/activated-devices

If you see a device that you no longer use or recognize, please deactivate it and then try launching InDesign or Photoshop again.

Let us know what versions you're using and whether any devices appear in the portal, and we'll be happy to guide you further from there.

    Looking forward to your update.

    Thanks,
    Abhishek

If you’re given a choice to deactivate one with CC, you’d also be prompted for which one. As others have pointed out, with CS versions, it was indeed more complicated and with dead activation servers you’re going to be pretty much out of luck.

Are you sure you are not using Adobe CS

I believe CC was always subscription based without a serial number.

What versions of InDesign and Photoshop are you using? Also, what operating system? You mentioned “serial number”, so I assume these are antique pre-subscription versions. In which case, you’re most likely out of luck as their activations cannot be managed anymore.
