Question

I need a series of answers for a task. I don't even know where to start.

So I'm trying to realign a pdf to fit in a 229 mm x 152 mm print. It's a book so I can't figure out how to realign this without blurring the pdf entirely or cutting off pieces of it. I can't even get in-design to open it page by page. The problem with the original alignment is that it's a little too big and each page of the pdf is made to be on left and right sides respectively. I'm just confused where to start and any input would be appreciated.

PDF2DTP is another option for opening PDFs in InDesign. Very professional conversion, top of line:

For those doing this regularly, might consider using this InDesign plug-in PDF2ID - PDF to InDesign, How to convert PDF to InDesign, Convert PDF to InDesign it converts PDFs to editable Adobe InDesign files.

Interesting to see that both Affinity Publisher and PhotoLine support such a conversion out of the box for a quarter of the price asked for that plugin alone. Hopefully InDesign 2020 will allow us to do the same without the need for expensive plugins.

Given that you haven’t told use what size the PDF is document is, it’s impossible to help.

Also helpful would be what version of InDesign and what application created the PDF.
