Question

I recently installed a font, however only the Regular variation is blank and now my document has blank spaces everywhere the font appears

I recently expanded a font family i use regularly. At first the regular was missing, and then when reinstalled it now shows up as blank. Unfortunately everywhere it used to appear is now just a blank text box.

I’ve also attempted to upload it to Adobe Fonts, and install it as a cloud font and nothing has worked.

I use the font on a day to day for very important material, so i cannot have random blank spaces

You say that you tried to upload it to Adobe Fonts. Could you clarify what you mean by that. Adobe Fonts exist on the Adobe website and can be downloaded by Creative Cloud subscribers but I’ve never heard of uploading a font to Adobe.

One other thing. The font that you are using should be either Truetype or OpenType. If you are trying to use an old Postscript Type 1 font then that could explain the issue. Postscript Type 1 fonts are no longer recognized by Creative Cloud programs. If the font exists as two files a Printer Font and a Screen Font then it is Postscript Type 1.

    Good day bill.

Under the Added fonts option in Creative cloud there's an option to Manage & upload fonts. You confirm the license and take it from there. The font file in question is an OpenType file. I have deleted and reinstalled the font as well, but the Regular version still persists to not work

Have you tried signing out and signing back in again with your Adobe ID in your Creative Cloud Desktop app? This simple process can often fix font activation issues.

    Hi @NavMKT,

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Could you please confirm the version of InDesign you're using, your operating system and version, and the font name along with its source/foundry (Adobe Fonts or another vendor)? In the meantime, please sign out of the Creative Cloud Desktop app and sign back in, then check if the issue persists. If it does, reinstall the Regular font from the original licensed font files, clear the system font cache (https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-illustrator-indesign.html), delete InDesign's AdobeFnt*.lst cache (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/desktop/troubleshoot/launch-and-crash-issues/fonts-issues.html), check for duplicate font installations, and temporarily disable any third-party font manager or test in Safe Mode to rule out conflicts (Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234, macOS: https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mh21245/mac). Also, in InDesign, open Type > Glyphs with the Regular style selected to verify that the font contains the expected glyphs.

Please let us know the results, and we'll be happy to assist further.

I am using Indesign 2026, v21.4 on Windows. The font name is RSSC Cinzel, its a version of Cinzel specifically created for our company.

I have signed in and out, restarted my computer and also removed all my indesign preferences but to no avail. I will have to pass on the instructions to clear the cache to our IT department as I dont have the user rights

    Hi @NavMKT,

Thanks for providing all the details. Please let us know the results after trying the previously suggested steps. In addition, could you also try testing the Regular font in Illustrator, Photoshop, or Word to see if the issue is specific to InDesign? Once your IT team is able to assist, please clear the system font cache and InDesign's AdobeFnt*.lst
cache, check for any duplicate font installations, and if possible, obtain a fresh copy of the Regular OTF from your font creator. It would also be helpful to test the font in an older version of InDesign like 21.3 or 20.x.

Please let us know how it goes, and we'll be happy to investigate further.
