I would like to select text in several places at the same time ie:

Text 1
Text 2
Text 3

And on each of these lines I want to place the cursor to add some text at one time. Something like this exists in visual studio code. How to do it? Below is a video explaining what I mean.

MS word does it nicely

The last layout tool I can recall that allowed selection of multiple elements (especially for style tagging) was Ventura Publisher.

While VP was... extremely powerful but just as extremely flawed, that feature of the UI is something I am sorry to see lost.

Does the text have some commonality that you can target with a GREP Find/Replace? You can use a GREP expression in the GREP find panel, then change to "$1 Additional text"

Your wish is close to the concept of a Text Variable, a feature in InDesign.

That is not possible in InDesign, sorry. Only one cursor and one selection at a time.
