Question

Was mache ich falsch?

Hi @michaeloch,

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how frustrating it can be when the cell formatting like fill color comes along with the text you're copying. What's likely happening is that the formatting is getting picked up when the entire cell is selected, which includes both content and appearance.

To copy only the text content, try double-clicking inside the cell to activate the Text Tool, then highlight just the text itself (not the entire cell) and copy it. When you paste it into another cell, it should only bring over the text, not the fill or any cell formatting.

If you've already tried this and the issue still persists, could you let me know which version of InDesign and OS you're using, and whether this is happening across all documents or just one? If possible, please share a short screen recording demonstrating your workflow.

Looking forward to your update.

Thanks for your kind reply. After all, this is okay for longer Textphrases, I think. I just want to create a calendar and every month starts with another day. Now I wanted to copy this day-row and paste it in the new month, so I don`t have to write it with every new month...

I hope my English let me explain the problem 🙂
