[ID-CS5.5] Plugin's compatibility issues with 64-bit OS

Hi All,

I build a plugin and tested it successfully in my InDesign CS 5.5 (32-bit OS).

But when I tested the same for InDesign CS5.5 in a 64-bit OS (the InDesign was 32-bit), it says that "the plugin is not compatible with this version. Ask your vendor to make a compatible version of the plugin".

What might be the issue?

Thanks

Well I forgot to mention that, the plugin I built was for CS5, I was running it for CS5.5.

The old ver of CS5.5 (7.5.0) was able to run the CS5 plugins , but the >=7.5.1 updates were not. So, I made the build for them.

Thanks for help.

If your plugin is 32-bit and InDesign is 32-bit then it shouldn't matter if the OS is 32 or 64-bit. Are you trying to use a Debug plugin in a Release build of InDesign (or a Release plugin in a Debug build of InDesign)? That might explain why it would work in one copy of InDesign and not in the other.

InDesign on mac is 32 bit and only works with 32 bit plugins on mac.  Until Adobe release a 64 bit InDesign your 64 bit plugin will not work.
