If I purchase InDesign, will I be able to view PDF files ? or do I still need Adobe Reader?

Just to bring you up-to-date, you cannot purchase a copy of InDesign any more. You buy a subscription—either to InDesign CC 2018 (the current version), or a subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud (which includes many more applications).

With an InDesign CC subscription, you can place a PDF file to use it as a graphic, but it doesn't include a separate PDF viewer application.

With a Creative Cloud subscription, you will get access to Adobe Acrobat DC which not only lets you preview PDF files but also edit them.
