IDML - SAVE AS vs EXPORT

Question

good morning,i need to know what is the difference between save a indd document as IDML CS4 or export the same document as IDML.I notice the size is different so I suppose also the content and structure.Why and when to choose SAVEAS instead EXPORT ? thx

There is no difference at all. At one point in the past it was only an export choice but it was added to the save option as well but it was done as a convenience to the user.

Interesting I never actively recall using the Save As option. I always used export. I suppose this could be some legacy option left over and export is the option to use. However, I will wait for someone to chime in who may have a better idea on the difference if any
