Question

Image looks distorted at previewing and exporting

Hi,

I am experiencing a tiny problem with some images lately.

The original stock image looks perfect, but while placing it into Indesign, it looks a little bit distorted.

Do you know why this happens and how to fix it?

I am using the latest version of InDesign.

I will share a screenshot of the stock image and a screenshot once it is exported.

Thanks in advance.

What format are you exporting to?

Have you tried resaving the image to a different file format - like TIFF or PSD?

If you do - relink it in the document and see if the problem persists.

InDesign generates a low resolution preview of the image to embed in the InDesign file, rather than embedding the full resolution of hte image. This might account for the discrepancy. You might have scaled the image to something other than 100%, you might be viewing it at something other than 100%. The real test is how the image looks in the final format. My guess is the image is fine.
