Question

Importing Excel cells to different pages in InDesign

Need some help with (I think) data merge. Is there a way I can have a list of different values in different cells in Excel (i.e., numbers 1-10 on 10 rows) and then somehow have InDesign pull from that list placing one value per page in a designated spot (i.e., 10 pages with 1 written in the top left on page one, 2 written on page two in the same spot, and so on.) Not trying to do page numbers but have a list of custom text I want to transport from Excel to ID. Cell per page. Hope that makes sense.

Have you tried File > Place for the Excel file and hold down the Shift key or else click on Show Import Options as you choose to open the file? This will bring up a dialog box where you can specify the rows you want to bring in. A1:F10 would bring in six columns by the first 10 row entries.
