Correct answer Steve Werner

Does this happen in just one InDesign file, or in all InDesign files? Does the mouse work correctly in another application (like Illustrator)?

If just one InDesign file, it could be file corruption. Save the file as IDML (File > Save As > InDesign CS4 or later [IDML]. Then open the IDML in InDesign.

If all InDesign files (but not in Illustrator or other app), then you should try restoring your InDesign preferences:

And it in all applications, it's probably a mouse or mouse driver problem.

I've had exactly the same problem for a week. An update problem I just had? And I guess the zoom function with the trackpad doesn't work anymore...

If you're indeed having any issues, then please start a new thread (this one is two years old). Make sure to describe your problems in detail and include your exact versions of InDesign and the operating system. You can reference this thread, if needed.
