Sorry to hear that you still experience this. Thanks for sharing all the details so far.

Could you please share a short screen recording showing the full workflow when you double click an INDD file from Windows Explorer? This will help us see exactly what application is being triggered and how the association is behaving on your system.

In the meantime, I'd recommend trying a reset of the file associations using the official guides below, as this usually helps when Windows is unable to properly bind the executable:
https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/file-associations-broken-uninstall-applications.html
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/windows11/how-to-set-adobe-default-for-indesign/4079095

If the issue still persists after that, you can try correcting the association directly via the Registry. Please press Win + R, type regedit, and hit Enter. Then navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InDesign.Document\shell\open\command and open the Default entry. Update the value so it points to your InDesign 2026 executable path enclosed in quotes, followed by "%1". For example:
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign 2026\InDesign.exe" "%1"

Once done, close the Registry Editor, restart the machine, and then try opening an INDD file again by double clicking it.

Let me know how it goes after trying this, and feel free to share the recording so I can take a closer look and help further.

Abhishek

Hi

Thanks for your help. :)
Here, as an attachment the asked recording.

I have already tested several times all the solutions offered by Adobe (Open With dialog box / Windows control panel / Uninstall + Resintall Creative suite / Registry edit). Without success !

And for your proposal of association in registry, it’s already ok !

Hello @Lysifoto,

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind reassigning the file association for the .INDD file type (Windows / macOS) to InDesign and checking if it helps? Also, try removing all previous versions of InDesign and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello

Thanks for helping me. 🙂

As I said, I already tried to reassign .indd to Indesign.exe (2026 folder) but it doesn't work.

Others files in .ind... are ok.

And I already removed all previous Indesign versions. I only have the last one.

Screenshots joined.
