Improper threading of textframes

Hi,

I am facing this issue since I have started using Indesign and found no solution to it till date.

The textframes sometimes thread perfectly but most of the time they dont. I have attached a 4 mins video of how I am creating a document and threading. Also the problem can be seen.

Its an RTL document. Ideally page 1 should be threaded to page 2 but here its threading to page 3. Similarly other pages are haywire.

What is the permanent solution this, can anyone please help? Thanks for your time.

I have attached idml file also.

Not being someone who works with right-to-left languages (and not having the ME version installed), but looking at the document setup I think the problem is the file is set up to read right to left, but you've threaded your frames left to right.

Spot on.  I changed the frame to right to left. Changed the threading to RTL and all worked fine.

Thanks

@Bedazzled532

Are you using MENA or a "regular" version?

Pages panel is showing pages running r-t-l. I don't think that's possible without ME version or scripting.

I don't have MENA:

Why are you creating so many text frames? You should try to do it in a single frame and use pargraph style means to typeset the text.

Use primary text frames on thw master/parent.

If you have seen the video, I have created one more set of textframe which will carry translation of the arabic text. That is the reason I am not creating primary text frame because only 1 primary text frame can exist.

Secondly, I am attaching one more jpg file. This is how the final output will look like. This I have made using 2 text frames only. You can see the text is not centered properly vertically. Thats the reason why I used so many textframes and it use to work properly.

The grey textframe will again contain text.
