Incompatibility between InDesign 17 and 15

My whole office has Indesign 15. I (on the same business package) recently downloaded indesign and it installed the latest version. NO ONE can open my documents. Any advice? How can I install version 15?

    Hi,

That is because you are on a bewer version of InDesign than your Friends.

It may have been possible that your friends downloaded CC2015 and then did not upgrade it to CC2017. When you opened CreativeCloud it automatically downloaded the latest CC2017 version.. which it should have.

    Now you can either:

    1. Ask your friends to upgrade to latest CC2017 version which the most desirable option. All upgrades come as part of your CC subscription. Update apps to Adobe Creative Cloud 2017

    2. You downgrade to CC2015. http://blogs.adobe.com/kevinmonahan/2014/01/29/revert-to-a-previous-version-of-premiere-pro-cc-or-any-creative-cloud-app…

    3. You save your file as .idml. This will enable your friends to view and edit your file.Save documents in InDesign

This really does not sound like a Feature Request. You probably want to post it in the regular forum.

Before you do so, you may want to check this: at the date of your posting, the latest version of InDesign is 12.1. There is no way you can have a version "17", nor for your colleagues to have "15". You are either mixing version numbers, or software (Illustrator, for example, is now at "21.1.0"), or you have received a download link from the future.

Or – a belated thought while I was making up various scenarios not needing involvement of time travelling bits – you mean you have version "2017.1" and your co-workers are, for some reason, still on "2015"? The "for some reason" is because they should have had received automatic updates so you would not have this problem. Everyone of them ignoring the prompts to update is pretty unlikely, that's why I didn't think of it initially.
