Question

InCopy to InDesign Bug - Character Styles

My team uses InCopy and InDesign in tandem to AutoFill a magazine every month. However, sometimes when we bring things into InDesign from InCopy there is a character style that has been applied to the entire InCopy File, and the text itself has a bunch of local overrides applied that we did not do. We can manually strip the character styles and clear the paragraph style overrides, but it's labor intensive and time consuming.

I'm moderately sure we set everything up right, but has anyone run into this before? Is there a way to prevent it from happening or a way to more efficiently fix it when it does happen?

Thank you in advance

Have you looked at it from the InCopy side? I will bet dollars to donuts that this user error.

Sounds to me like the InCopy users are copy/pasting Word content into the text frames which generally brings the formatting with it.

A little training here could go a long way but there's no way I can believe this is a bug.
