Incorrect Author Metadata Displayed in macOS Sequoia Finder for PDFs Exported from InDesign

Any suggestions on why a PDF exported from InDesign 2025 shows "Adobe InDesign 20.3 (Macintosh)" as the Author when viewd in Acrobat, even after editing the File Info in InDesign? I tried updating the Author in Adobe Acrobat as well but no luck.

Hi @leo.r and @Laubender,

Thanks so much for the insights and for testing this across different macOS versions.

At this point, I'm not entirely sure where the root cause lies, but I agree with you both that it feels like it could be a bug with Finder on Sequoia. That said, we'll still be thoroughly checking every angle from the InDesign side to rule out anything on our end. If everything checks out clean, we'll definitely raise it with Apple and coordinate from there.

Appreciate all the help and detailed observations as always.

I'll keep you both posted with any updates from our internal checks.

*Correction - I meant "Adobe InDesign 20.3 (Macintosh)" as the Author when viewed in Mac FINDER WINDOW - DETAILS/INFO PANEL

I can't reproduce it on Ventura. What's your macOS version?

Ok I can reproduce it on Sequoia.

Definitely a bug on Sequoia - the Finder pulls info from the wrong entry.
