Question

indb file save issue

I am using ID to lay out a long novel. The book is broken into 6 indd documents and stitched together with one indb document. I recently used the "Package Book for Print" tool to make a fresh copy of the book to enter editor's corrections in a fresh copy.

In the previous mode, when I opened the book, the 6 indd files AND the 1 indb file would show up in the Book panel. After creating the new folder with "Package Book for Print" only the 6 indd files show up in the Book panel. Not the indb file. Everything works fine, but when I close the document, the indb file doesn't recognise the old indb file and acts as if it is being saved for the first time and replaces it.

Any idea what is going on?

When the issue crops up again I will take some screenshots and post them.

I don't think INDB files ever show up in a Book (INDB) panel. But beyond that, I have next to zero experience with packaging, so maybe that's not a relevant answer.
