Question

indd file 70% converted

I'm fairly new to indesign, but I'm trying to edit an indesign file someone else created. Once it's open in indesign, it seems to be missing elements and the title says it's "70% converted." I'm at a loss... any ideas what I can do to view this file properly and then be able to edit it? I'm using the most recent version, so I don't think that's it. I would really like to edit this file rather than recreate it entirely. Thanks.

Hi @defaultaiykqvcnbpcf,

Thanks for the update and for sharing those details earlier. I just wanted to follow up if you were able to open and work with the file using the IDML version shared by Manan? If it helped resolve the issue and the missing elements are now appearing, that's great to hear. But if you're still running into the same problem, do let me know and we can look into further troubleshooting steps together.

Looking forward to your update!

Abhishek

I downloaded and opened your file. It opened instantly and easily. This suggests to me that something is ailing your computer or your InDesign aap.

Have you tried:

Emptying your Temp folders?

Resetting InDesign preferences?

Do you get a dialog saying something on the lines that the document was created on a newer version of InDesign and needs to be converted to open in your version. If so then this could be a network/service issue as in this case the file is uploaded to Adobe servers for conversion.
