INDD hangs at startup — all others fine... #grrr

Of course, the file I need is in INDD... PS and AI open fine (all are updated). I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything... repaired the disk. I'm just short of wiping the disc and starting over. I've even installed older (2017) versions.

Anyone have some secret ninjutsu to save the evening? Presentation is in 8 hours... it's 1:30AM... fun!

thanks bob... all legit questions. at 3:30AM, clarity isn't a strong suit. ...

OS = high Sierra ... in place upgrade.
INDD version = "most current" (if i could open it i could see version. ...) ... but CC2018 otherwise.

update: after a disk-fix and several uninstalls and installs (the last wiping CC completely and reinstalling), all are working now. i'd say "what a nightmare" if i had happened to get any sleep.

What EXACT version of InDesign? What EXACT operating system?

FWIW, this sounds like a system issue if other apps are having issues. Is the O/S a clean installation or was it done as an in place upgrade.
