InDeisgn Tools Cursors don't change with different tools

Hi all!

I just updated to that latest version of INDD, and it seems to have messed up my tools cursors. Tool cursors show the white arrow across all tools when they're supposed to have specific icons of their own. Has anyone else seen this and have a fix? When I googled it was giving me some troubleshooting sets, but all the posts were old and don't work for the newest  version.

Any help here would be great!

I agree with @James Gifford—NitroPress . Problems like that can occur when doing a major update. Updating you preferences and caches is often the best way to fix them. Here's a description of how to do it:

I first thought of the 'precision cursor' setting, but that's Photoshop (and Illustrator?) and not a feature of InDesign.

Sounds as if your ID preferences are corrupted. It happens fairly easily/often with updates. You need to trash the preferences, and that will amost certainly restore normal cursor operation. Here's a guide for various platforms and versions: Reset InDesign Preferences and Other Troubleshooting .
