Question

Indesign 15 and multiple master fonts

I've received a document from a client who has used multiple master fonts. These fonts will not embed in an exported pdf or through generating postscript. Fortunately the document was created in an older version of Indesign which I still have. Same document. Same fonts. Worked fine in Indesign 2018. Was able to export a press ready pdf with no issue. Anyone have any idea whats up?

Hm. Then I suspect a new bug with InDesign 2020.

Hi,

hm. Didn't know that Multiple Master Fonts are still working with InDesign…

How did you make the font available to your InDesign document? Did you provide it with a Document fonts folder? And did you try this with InDesign 2020 version 15 as well?

Indesign 2020 (15) was the version that did not work. Document fonts folder and font utility tried and failed. Indesign 2018 worked without a problem.

Did you copy them into the InDesign fonts folder? There's no O/S support for them and there hasn't been in many years.
I know these came from a client but it's time to go all Opentype to avoid any kind of font issues.
