InDesign 18.0 Saving Issues - PDF & INDD files

Hello. Since our team updated to the recent 18.0 version, several of us have been having issues exporting PDFs (we can go throught the entire process but it fails mid-save and that error box pops up). I have been able to export PDFs for them, if I open their files and export, but their's will always error out. We all have 18.0, but they have the newest Windows updates and I do not.

The other issue is that it seems that they are makeing edits to InDesign files, saving them, closing out, and when they go to reopen, their edits were not saved.

any tips?

Edits not saving is a serious issue.

Can you confirm if you're saving locally or to a server, or to a cloud service?

As for PDF exports - things change in the new editions of software. Unfortunately this can affect output.

Try exporting half the amount of pages and if it exports ok then try the other half.

Keep halving until you find the culprit page.

I strongly recommend to never change version of InDesign mid-project.

You can revert to your previous version of software and work from that.

There are things you can do in your older files - firstly open them in the version of the software they were created in.

Choose File>Export and pick IDML

Then open the IDML file in the new version of the software.

Saving to a server.

The PDF exports - it doesn't seem to be a page/content issue, because I am able to export the same document, but when coworkers try it fails.
