Question

Indesign 18.5 Crashing

I can only open Indesign by deleting the preferences which isn't ideal.

Why is my indesign not opening like normal, I'm on a Mac.

Is it a storage issue?

Any suggestions welcome.

What steps are the two of you following? The keyboard shortcut as you launch, or are you deleting the preferences and caches files from the your drive? If the former, please try the latter.

I agree with Barb. The latter method she suggested always works for me. In fact, I usually refer people to the link she created to describe the process.

I am having the exact same issue. And as soon as I close it doewn it wont re-open unless i delet prefs.
Thought it was a particular file - but even creating a fresh file with nothing but a white block... same issue, save, Quit InD and then it wont re-open.

When doing an InDesign update (like 18.5) some systems require restoring preferences and caches to return to normal behavior. It doesn't happen to everyone. It hasn't happened to me.
