We are using Indesign 2019 ( 14.0.2 x64 ) and type 1 fonts. Is everything working for us in January 2023?

PostScript Type 1 technology was introduced about 34 years ago.  It is time to let them go.

Computing has changed far too much to keep them alive anymore.

The important thing is that OpenType was introduced more than 20 years ago and pretty much made Type 1 archaic immediately.

Hi @Johan27631681i642 , As long as you choose not to upgrade, I don’t think there will be a problem. The article @mk-will linked to is a bit ambiguous, but I read this line to mean CC app upgrades after January 2023 will no longer support Type 1 fonts:

      Any release from January 2023 and beyond will not support Type 1 fonts.

But...it is very important to note that both Microsoft and Apple will likely kill Type 1 support, too. After that it won't matter what you do...those fonts won't work.

@BobLevine

Apple already did, afaik.

Do you have any further information regarding Windows?

But as long as you are using an InDesign version with T1 support you can put the T1 fonts in the InDesign fonts folder or the INDD documents font folder.

Should work.
