Indesign 2019 - Converting Text to Paths issues

Apart from the incredibly frustrating text tool freezing - is anybody experiencing the issue with the new Id 2019 - when you convert any bulleted/tabbed text to paths the tabs go haywire? Once you convert to paths the tabs are all over the place (some moving forward, others moving back) - this happened a few times now on different documents with different fonts and settings on different computers. And also - when converting superscript text to paths - it adds an extra (incorrect) space after the superscript text - which immediately looks like a bad layout mistake). These are only the issues we've immediately noticed - who knows what other issues there are with text in the 2019 update. Only started happening after the update last week. Super frustrating and impossible to keep track of when you work on copy-heavy documents. Back to Id v13.1 for now - no time to try and sidestep the 2019 update booby traps. What a way to delight designers around the world in an already stressful time of year.

Hi All,

We have fixed this issue in our latest release InDesign CC2019.0.1. I would recommend you to upgrade to the latest version as it is more robust.

Let me know if you still face this issue.

Regards,

Srishti

Dear Srishti,

Is this update availabe trough official Creative Cloud app or is this a also a pre-release?

Is this a higher version than 14.0.1.207 pre-release? I don't want to run over this version that has fixed problems.

It should be available on the CC Desktop app shortly. At this very moment, it hasn't been released. I just checked.

Seems to be a known issue.

In the meantime - there's another way to convert your text to outlines and it preserves more information than InDesign does, InDesign does not convert underlines, paragraph rules etc to outlines.

Hope that helps you move on - although I know it doesn't fix your immediate issue.
