InDesign 2022 Crashes while generating the TOC

Hi,

I have created a cooking book with lots of images and text. The first creation did not have any issue with table of contents. I revised the book with couple of recipes moved here and there. Since then while generating or removing, whatever I try to do with TOC, it just crashes. Hope someone can suggest to resolve this.

Thanks and Regards,

Eswari

Did you try to heal publication by idml?

indd save to idml -> open idml and save as some new indd -> open this new indd and try again.

Which version of InDesign and OS?
How much RAM and spare hard disk capacity do you have on your system?

It might be worth saving the document as an IDML document, renaming it incrementally and reopening it in InDesign – that will clear out the crud that builds up and that can cause corruption.

RAM is good. But, idml did the trick. I never got issue with TOC, so didn't think of trying it that way. Thanks.
