InDesign 2023 Dropdown Window Options Not functioning

With Adobe CC Indesign 2023 I have noticed a few bugs; I am using a 2021 MacBook Pro, with 64GB of memory, and am running Ventura 13.1.

In InDesign 2023, while trying to access the Dropdown Window in "File" the dropdown window would appear, however, when I clicked on any option nothing would happen. This also happens with the Workspace button in the top right. When trying to change the workspace from "Book" to anything else, the dropdown window would appear but when an option was selected, nothing would happen and the button still reads"Book." The expectation is to click on the desired option and have the option either be applied or open another window. The result is that nothing happens. 

When adjusting the kerning of text in a text frame (while using the Book workspace), in the upper tool bar where the kerning icon is, I change the kerning to what I want. Typically, I am able to see the change appear right away, however, when changing the kerning currently, nothing changes until the cursor is brought back into the design area.
