InDesign 2023: Find and Replace doesn't work

Mac 13.5.2 - InDesign 18.5

Find and replace (as well as nested styles) do not work. I can even select a "2" from a block of text, and attempt to find a "2", and it will say 'Cannot Find Match.' Whether story, selection, document etc is the selection criteria, I always get the same result. This seems to affect nested styles as well.

Would there be a chance that you are dong it on a Parent Page and not have 'Include Paren Pages' option checked in the Find/Change dialog box? This has happened to me.

i have the same issue. i have made sure to include parent pages as well. and i still get the result "Cannot Find Match". There are too many areas that have the text i need to replace in a template that i just want to replace, but Indesign does not want to cooperate.

Hi @prod_artist , you need to do your Find/Change in the GREP tab.
