InDesign 2023 (MacOS): Thumb Wheel No Longer Zooms

Hello,

Has anyone experienced problems with zooming pages in InDesign 2023 using a mouse thumb wheel? On my Mac (MacOS 12) with a Logitech MX Master 3, the thumb wheel used to zoom in and out flawlessly with InDesign 2022, but once I installed the latest version, the thumb wheel does nothing.

Here is what I've done so far:

1. Verified that the thumb wheel still zooms other applications, such as Safari, Word, etc. No problems there.

2. Verified that my mouse's software (Logi Options+) has the correct settings, and indeed, the thumb wheel is set to zoom. As mentioned above, it works well in every other app.

3. Tried turning Animated Zoom on/off in InDesign's GPU settings.

4. Restarted the Mac.

None of those steps worked. Any ideas?

Did you ever resolve this issue? I am having the same problem with my MX Master 3S on macOS Sonoma 14.4.

However, it only seems to be a problem with the document is in "Fit Page in Window" view. In that case, it staggers and jumps, looking like it will zoom, but then it just keeps jumping back to fit the page. But if I zoom in or out another way first, then I can zoom to my heart's content. Unfortunately, I like to go from Fit Page to zooming in/out all the time. It's very frustrating and non-intuitive to have to take my hand off the mouse to zoom and then find the mouse again.

Actually, now I'm seeing that it's really only happening in the circumstances I've described above PLUS when I have multiple windows tiled. No tiles, no problem. But if the docs are tiled and in Fit to Page, no scroll-zooming will work.

And I'm definitely hovering over the active document window as I attempt to scroll-zoom. It's been my workflow to have multiple windows open for years and I never had a problem scroll-zooming until one day... it became a problem.

P.S. What I've described is affecting the main scroll wheel and holding down the option key, not using the thumb scroll wheel.

Even with a newly bought MX Master s3 with logioptions+ on a Windows 11 laptop, thumb wheel set to zoom in/out everywhere, it only scrolls horizontally. Zoom only works in photoshop (one of the default programs in logioptions+, where the action is called Zoom in photoshop), but doesn't work in illustrator and indesign

i too, have noticed this issue in 2023, i only just installed it last week or so. i hold cmd and use the mouse wheel and it doesnt. im on a generic mouse. it will zoom once i click anywhere, but this is not ideal, it needs a solution. ***BUMP
