Question

InDesign 2023 saved files not inheriting folder permissions

Hello,

I have a user that is trying to save their InDesign files to a shared folder. But everytime they do it does not apply the permissions unless done manually afterwards or the user will have to save the file to a different folder and then move the file to the shared folder to get the proper permissions.

This is only with InDesign as we tested with every other Adobe product and they all Save-As directly into the folder with proper permissions.

Hi @Andrew28974620w2yt ,

Thank you for reaching out. In addition to the suggestions shared by Steve, please ensure that InDesign has Full Disc Access if you're on macOS. Let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Thanks

Rishabh

We need more information about the user's system: Please tell us what operating system (exactly) they are running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version they are using.

I would suggest that the user restore their preferences and cache settings. Here's how:

Issue is the indesign file inherited the permission from each user's C:\User folder permission and not the folder where I am saving. Why is it doing this?
