InDesign 2024 and 2025 Crashing When Specifying Printer Settings on Mac OS Sequoia

Anyone else having printing issues with Sequoia?  I  am printing to a Xerox Phaser 7800 with multiple trays.  I cannot spec my specific printer in the page setup - it only shows "any printer". I can spec the printer in the main InDesign print dialog, but if I select the "printer" button at the bottom of the dialog in order to spec tray, paper weight, duplexing etc. InDesign immediately crashes.

I was having the same issue with Illustrator and Acrobat, but the latest Adobe updates *seem* to have solved it there. InDesign is where the printer specification is most critical in order to correctly print booklets, trifold brochures etc.

I have sent reports to both Adobe and Apple but have seen no solutions to date.

Could you please confirm if you have submitted crash reports to Adobe regarding the issues you’re experiencing? If so, could you also provide the Adobe email ID that you used when submitting the report? This information will help us track the reports and understand the scope of the issue.

Looking forward to your responses so we can get to the bottom of this!

Same exact issue here!  Im running latest InDesign, and I just installed Sequoia. Both are fully updated. I am running KONICA machines with EFI FIERY latest versions as well.

I'm having this exact problem with a Xerox printer with multiple trays. I'm also seeing "Any Printer" when selecting a printer and when I go to print, my app crashes. Each and every time.

Hi @sarah_0090,

Thanks for sharing your experience regarding the printing issues with your Xerox printer. To better assist you, could you please provide a few details?

  1. Are you using InDesign 2025?
  2. Which version of Mac OS are you currently on?
  3. Is this issue occurring with a specific file or across all your InDesign files?
  4. If possible, could you share a screenshot of your print settings when the crash occurs?

Your input will help us investigate this issue further. Thank you for your patience, and I look forward to your response!

I'm using InDesign 2025. I tried using InDesign 2024 but quickly realized
my files wouldn't open with that. Then once I updated the Adobe Suite, I
wasn't able to open any app without updating my OS to Sequoia. I've been
forced to update both systems. And now when I try to print any file,
InDesign crashes. My Xerox printer settings aren't collaborating with it
either as I'm unable to print files. I'm having a rep from Xerox come in
today just to make sure everything is updated on that end as well but from
where I'm sitting, the issues started with Adobe.

Have you checked with Xerox to see if you have the latest printer driver for your printer? They may not yet support MacOS Sequoia.

I forgot to mention that I did update the print drivers from Xerox.
I am having the same problem to a lesser degree with Illustrator. I can't limp along with that, but the issue really affects printing from InDesign.
