InDesign 2025 Crashes when uploading to "Share for Review"

Is anyone else having trouble with the "Share for Review" function? I have been recieving edits on a file for over two months now, and every single time I "Update Content" on the review link, InDesign crashes. It does save my work and eventually, my file updates on the link, but it's super frustrating. My file is only 20mb, and I have tons of cloud storage left. Does anyone have a fix?

In my experience, the cause of crashing in this scenario is due to a particular link that I have placed within my document – often the cause of the issue is an INDD file that's linked in a parent INDD. Maybe the linked file is corrupted or too complex, I'm not sure. But the only solution for me is to identify the corrupted link and remove it or resave it in another format.

Hello Rens,

Try 2 things:

Logout of your CC Account; then login. Try to Share for Review.

Export the InDD file to .IDML; re-open the IDML file; Save-As to .InDD file with new/different filename. Try to Share for Review.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your suggestions! I tried your recommendations and I'm still running into the same crashing/freezing in indesign. There are comments from my partners in the indesign web link that I can't remove (because they want to make sure the edits have been made before they dissolve their own comments) so I can't necessarily create a whole new link 😞

Hi, thanks for reaching out! I tried the workflow with the latest version of the app (20.3) on macOS 15.4.1, and everything is working fine.

Could you share the exact version of InDesign you're using along with your computer's operating system? You can try resetting the preferences of InDesign using the steps suggested here: https://adobe.ly/44IHKDc

Let us know if it helps!
Thanks,
Nikunj
