Indesign 2026 (21.1) crashing after activating fonts

OS Tahoe 26.2 / Indesign 2026(21.1) / MacbookPro M2

When opening an Indesign 2025 file (converting) with missing fonts, I will go to font manager (Connect Fonts 26.0.5 or Adobe Fonts, same behavior) and activate the missing fonts. Upon returning to Indesign, the program will crash. Upon relaunching (with fonts already active) it converts & saves fine. Tried usual remedies, no luck. Any thoughts?

Thanks for confirming @davecourtemanche,

Could you try the suggestions shared in these help articles (https://adobe.ly/3Lu8Gzn) (https://adobe.ly/4aRLd5M) and check if they help? Additionally, kindly submit the crash report using your Adobe email address and share it here for quick tracking. Steps are shared here: (https://adobe.ly/4jwWavH).

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Started this a.m. with another erase & clean install of ID 2026. Things are working now. 2nd times the charm! 😄

Hi davecourtemanche,

Thank you for reaching out. In addition to what our expert has suggested, Would you mind telling us if the issue is happening with all files or with a specific file? Does that only happen with old files, or does it also occur with new ones?

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

This is happening with any file, whether created in ID 21.1 or updating a old file. File opens, prompts a missing font warning. Switch over to font management to activate font. As soon as I switch back to ID, app crashes.

In addition, choosing "skip" to go to the file crashes ID.

This happens only with 21.1? If so, then we could be seeing a bug
