InDesign 2026 Cannot Save Files on Windows | 'File Is Corrupt' Error and Freezing Issue

Does nothing to fix the massive issue me and my org are having with being unable to save files because they are apparently ‘corrupt’.

Not only that only that attempting to add pages to files is causing indesign to freeze. 

Not only that my preferences have been reset with no warning before the install

 

I have a document due back to a client imminently and to be perfectly frank we are not actively looking for alternatives to this programme. 

 

Get rid of the AI crap and get back to the basics.

    I’m sorry to hear how disruptive this has been, especially with deadlines involved. I understand how frustrating it is to deal with file corruption and freezes while trying to deliver work.

    The “corrupt file” saving problem, at least for Windows users, seems to have been caused by a Windows update, and it has been remedied with a new update issued by Microsoft on Jan 24, I believe.

    I’d love to give you a link to the discussion that tells you how to get that patch and the numbers for the updates to remove and to install(I THINK Windows 11 users can get it from Windows Update), but that discussion is currently lost in limbo due to the forum changeover this week.

    Sorry, I don’t know anything about the adding pages causing a freeze issue.

    I am also having the same issue with “corrupt” files. I have lost multiple days of work due to this issue. It’s very frustrating. With the recent undo and disappearing text bugs I am completely frustrated with Adobe.

    Exact same happening to me. Keep losing files! The update doesn’t work and all my files are now corrupt

    The specific problem with adding a page is I do that then there is a dingaling noise from windows to tell me a prompt has appeared, which is probably behind indesign that cannot be reached. We honestly don’t have time for this.
