InDesign 2026 Not Packaging Files on macOS (Cannot Copy Linked Files Error)

After installing InDesign 2026 (21.2) MAC it won’t package jobs. Any jobs...

Getting the error “Cannot copy necessary linked files”.

Same job package well in InDesign 2025 (20.5.2) MAC.

No special characters in files or folders.

Working on smb drives.

Not an option to copy everything to local drive.

Any ideas?

    Ole,

Go to your Mac’s System Preferences and open "Security & Privacy" and select the "Privacy" tab.

In the sidebar, select "Accessibility" and check if InDesign is listed and checked. If not, unlock the settings (click the lock icon), click the "+" button, and add InDesign from your Applications folder.

Do the same for "Full Disk Access" adding InDesign if it’s not already there.

Restart your macOS after making these changes and test InDesign again?

    Hi Mike,

    That did the trick!

All that security in MacOS prevented InDesign from doing what it used to do…

    1000 thanks

    Ole
