InDesign 2026 Text Frames Misbehaving Due to Baseline Grid Alignment

Hello,

Illustrator 2026 is causing a huge number of problems with the simple manipulation of text boxes.
When I move them, it changes the text alignment inside the box. When I try to fit the box to the content, it doesn’t adjust to the text but to the bug. When I move a box, it marks the content as “overset text.” In short, nothing works — it’s impossible to align anything properly.

Stop adding useless AI features when the most basic tools no longer work. All of this while increasing the price by more than €200 per year. Don’t be surprised that everyone is looking for alternatives to your solutions.

I’ve been using your ecosystem for 20 years, and you’ve finally managed to make me sick of it.

    Bonjour @Nicolas348225006uay

Thank you for your help. You were right.
Thank you as well for your responsiveness.

I remain curious, however, to know your reaction, as a Community Expert and Community Manager (Anubhav M), regarding the exponential increases in your pricing over the past few years. It is a model that is becoming difficult to sustain for most European freelancers (at least French ones), considering the tax constraints we face here.

My reaction may have been somewhat knee-jerk, but I don’t want you to think that it was only that.

It remains a deep feeling shared by virtually all freelancers, printers, and other players in the graphic production chain with whom I regularly speak. The phrase that comes up almost systematically is… “ça devient n’importe quoi...“. And I already know several people who have happily switched to free alternatives, after a  slightly uncomfortable but short adjustment period. When is it going to stop?

In the meantime, thank you again for your help.
    And have a good day.

Thank you for your help. You were right.

So, what was the issue? Text wrap or baseline grid?

    Nicolas,

What you describe sounds a lot like the Text Wrap panel is turned on for one or more objects; perhaps for an object that you are not noticing.

    Have you checked for that?

Have you patched InDesign 2026 to version 21.2 ?

    Hello @Nicolas348225006uay,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you confirm the exact versions of OS/Illustrator/InDesign installed, and provide a brief screen recording of your workflow and the problem so we can better assist you?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
