InDesign 21.2 Share for Review Not Working on Windows 11 – 'Error Getting Invited People' Issue

Share for review hasn’t been working for several days now. I’ve signed out and still doesn’t work after logging back in. I’ve also restarted my computer. Attaching a screenshot of “Error getting invited people” - I don’t even use the invite, only the link. Spins and spins, never loads share options.

Running version 21.2, Windows 11

    Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear that you experience this issue. Could you please let me know if this is happening only with this particular file or with all InDesign files? If it’s limited to one specific file, please try saving it as IDML, then open that IDML file and save it again as a new INDD with a different name. After that, try creating the Share for Review link from the new file and see if it works.

    It was happening with several files… only in the past hour did I come across a file that it wasn’t affecting. I just tried your fix to save as an IDML and then save under a new file name and that worked! I’ll do that now with any other files that are having this issue. Thank you!

      I’m glad to hear that the IDML workaround helped resolve the issue. Saving the file as IDML rebuilds the document structure and removes any hidden corruption that can interfere with features like Share for Review. When you reopen it and save it as a new INDD, InDesign creates a clean file, which is why the sharing options start working again.

      Please continue using this method for any affected files, and do let me know if you notice the issue returning so I can look into it further.
