InDesign 21.4.1 x64 hangs when exporting to PDF, posted elsewhere but it belongs here

Already posted in the Acrobat forum but I think it belongs here.

Machine is a Zenbook Duo (Windows 11). When exporting a relatively small (five page) document to PDF, InDesign hangs and never recovers.

Workaround is to tick the “Create separate PDF files” checkbox and combine the pages afterwards.

Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong? I’ve used InDesign for years and have never before seen this behavior.

I tend to agree with @Dave Creamer of IDEAS on this, but my guess is you must have some really large linked file you are trying to process on one of the pages.

You could use divide and conquer (split the doc, and each failed section, in half) to locate the page.

What are the specs on your system: RAM, processor, free hard drive space?

My thinking is the system doesn’t have enough resources to process the entire document at once,

I think single pages would be processed and flushed out before the next page is processed.

I could upload the Belarc report - is there a way to do that here?

Just look at your Settings>System>About setting.
