InDesign 21.4 Bug: Unable to Move Multiple Selected Objects When Dragging Over Placed Images

In the latest update of InDesign when I have multiple shapes and frames on the page selected, if my cursor is above something like a rectangle with content/picture inside it, I only move the picture that is below it at the time.

Rather than the whole selection of objects as it used to. I tested before and after the update and it was something that only broke with 21.4. If I cursor over a solid shape object while still selecting the entire group (including the photo frame) that then moves the entire section but only if cursor above a placed fill object does it break.

What could possibly be happening?

Hi, we released InDesign version 21.4.1 today that includes a fix for this issues. Please check out: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/desktop/whats-new/release-notes.html

Please update InDesign and let us know how it goes.

If you do not see the update in the Creative Cloud Desktop App, check out: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/apps/manage-apps/creative-cloud-apps/update-creative-cloud-apps-manually.html

    Thanks,

I can’t even believe this is happening. this is slowing me down SO BAD Adobe this is not a good time to be screwing up basic functions there is a lot of competition out there and I do not want to learn it!!!!!

This is happening for me as well. Also, when I drag to select multiple items, I can deselect boxes and text but I can’t deselect images. Then I go to drag the multiple images and only the single image under the cursor moves unless I hold down the shift key.

some files work ok, and others just don’t. I can not figure out why.

I would like yo be a beta tester. Shift solves the issue once you get used to. But, guys, we have been working the same way for ages. How can you break that? do you want us yo go with Affinity?

This bug is the worst yet, makes it unbearable to work. Had to revert to older version. Please fix.

same issue here. Regarding the workaround, you only need to start holding shift down. Once released, you can move all objects together in any directions, and not only along a straight path.

    Hope this fix this soon.

Same problem here. It’s feels lik auto select in photoshop, but more annoying.  The real only workaround is to go back to version 21.3.
Almost one month and adobe not got it fixed yet...
