InDesign 21.5: column width not saved to InCopy/ICML export

Since updating to InDesign 21.5, exporting/saving a story as InCopy (ICML) can omit a table's column width data

Environment: InDesign 21.5, Windows.

Is this a known/tracked bug, and is a fix scheduled? Is there a recommended workaround in the meantime?

    Correct answer Rainer Klute

There’s a bug report about this, and in my comment I describe when this happens: Splitted cell, and the two “new” cells have not the same width.

Hope this helps Adobe to fix this issue asap!

    Hi Frizzy,

The page geometry is handled by the ICMA file, also called the Assignments file.

For those who don’t use the Assignments panel/file, you would use InCopy to open the network-available .indd file, and this would provide the physical geometry for the text/table as you edit the text of the ICML file.

Lots of free stuff to read and review:

    Hello @frizzzy_396

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I tried to replicate this behavior on my end, but was unable to. Could you kindly share a sample file along with a brief screen recording of your exact workflow and the problem, so we can check this with the team?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
