InDesign 21.6 Bug: When place a (Interactive-) PDF in a InDesign document, transparencies are wrong visible, when View → Display Performance → High Quality

Hi @geshons , By wrong do you mean the color changes? If that’s the case make sure your Transparency Blend Space set to RGB.

Same problem here: on iMac.

No transparence on every frame where a rotation is apply (either to the frame itself and/or the image in the block). White background instead of the transparent area.
OK when I swtich to “Standard preview” [something like that, not sure of the translation, I’m in the French version]
Still working OK in every preview mode when the same file is open in my older version 20.5.5.
That should be addressed asap. that looks very “amateur” from Adobe :(

Thanks for sharing the details and sorry to hear about the experience. To help us investigate this further, could you please share a short screen recording demonstrating the issue, particularly how the transparency behaves when switching between High Quality and Typical Display?

Additionally, please share a sample InDesign file along with the affected PDF. You can package the document using File > Package, ensuring that Copy Linked Graphics is selected, and then compress the packaged folder into a ZIP file.

You can share the files here in the thread or, if they're confidential, send them to me via direct message using a downloadable link from Google Drive, Dropbox, or any other cloud-sharing platform.

Hi!

Here is a small file in which you’ll probably see the problem.

The image is a not so complicated illustration from Illustrator… but again, every view option is OK when open in 20.5.5 Indesign version.

Got many other files with the same issue… and not only with Illustrator files.

Thanks for reporting this, and sorry to hear you're experiencing this transparency display issue in InDesign 21.6.

I haven't been able to reproduce the behavior on my end so far. Could you please confirm your OS and version, and let us know whether this happens with all PDFs containing transparency or only with a specific Interactive PDF?

As a quick test, please switch between GPU Preview and CPU Preview using View > Preview on CPU and check whether the transparency displays differently.

If the issue persists, could you please share the sample PDF and INDD file, along with screenshots showing the incorrect display? You can share the files here, or if they're confidential, send them via DM using a downloadable link from any public cloud/file-sharing service.

This will help us reproduce the issue and investigate it further.
