InDesign Accessibility Support for Math-Heavy Books

Our team works on EdTech book design, and we are currently implementing accessibility for InDesign and PDF files.

Most of our books contain a large number of MathType EPS equations and Illustrator AI graphs. Manually adding alt text and accessibility information to thousands of these objects is not scalable.

We would like to implement accessibility primarily at the InDesign source level so it can be reused for future editions and outputs.

Has anyone worked on similar math-heavy/STEM publishing projects? What tools, workflows, or automation solutions do you recommend for handling equations, graphs, alt text, MathML, and accessible PDF generation from InDesign?
