Sorry to hear that InDesign is freezing after the recent update. I tested this on my end and couldn't reproduce the issue. Could you please confirm if you're using InDesign version 21.0 and share your operating system details? Also, let me know if the freeze happens only with certain files or whenever you open multiple documents.
If you haven't already, try resetting your InDesign preferences following the steps here: Reset InDesign Preferences. If the problem continues, please try launching the app in Safe Mode to rule out conflicts with third-party software: Windows Safe Mode, macOS Safe Mode
Also, test the issue in new admin local user profile to isolate it from any account specific issue and update. Ref: Windows New User, macOS New User.
If it still persists, please share a short screen recording of the issue along with your system specs (CPU, RAM, etc.) so I can check it further with the team.
